In a nutshell, you are free to copy, distribute and transmit the work; to remix/adapt the work (e.g. to import the ontology and create specializations of its elements), as long as you attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work). This copyright applies to the specification and accompanying documentation in RDF. Regarding underlying technology, this ontology uses W3C's RDF technology, an open Web standard that can be freely used by anyone.
The exact definition of innovation is debatable both in the academic and pratical sense. Neither an art or a science, its core function is to meet the wants and needs of others. It should be seen as separate but invaluable to enterprise, being concerned more with the application rather than the capitalisation of an idea.
